Building A Community of Fitness

Mindy Nussbaum

Owner / Coach

Mindy Nussbaum

Mindy grew up in small town Perry, Florida, and graduated FSU Business School. She moved to Newnan, GA in 2003. She absolutely loves Newnan – the city, the people, and the heart of the community. It is home.

Mindy has always been involved in sports and athletics, growing up playing soccer and cheerleading. In coaching CrossFit, she has also realized her love of encouraging others – seeing their goals accomplished within the gym, as well as, how that affects their life outside the gym. Building and serving the CrossFit Newnan community – individually and as a team – is her heart.

Outside the gym, Mindy’s greatest joy is time spent with her husband, Scott. They enjoy staying busy with everything outdoors, on the water, on a mountain, or in the skies. She is currently working on her private pilot’s license, loves to ski, and needs to feel the sand in her toes frequently. Their two fur babies, Burch and Bella are always closely in toe. Mindy’s greatest love and peace is in her belief in Jesus Christ. She enjoys sharing God’s love by serving her church, her small group, and her community.

Andrew Turner

Head Coach

Andrew Turner

Andrew got married to his wife Kourtney in 2021. No kids yet, Andrew is very protective of his food and the kids will take away from that. His career pays him to yell at people at five in the morning… talk about a good job!

In his free time he enjoys forcing people to intentionally hurt themselves with external loads and also intentionally hurting himself with external loads. CrossFit is doing constantly varied, functional movements at high intensity. With this definition, Andrew has been doing CrossFit for thirty two years but if you only consider the time that he’s had a bar in his hand, he started in 2012. He started getting paid to yell at people and hurt their feelings, also know as coaching, since 2012.

His favorite thing about CrossFit is constantly wondering if the pain he is feeling is delayed onset muscle soreness from his training the day before or if he is starting to develop scoliosis.

Andrew’s favorite CrossFit movement is the shavasana pose or in his words the “corpse pose”.

Kourtney Turner

Coach / Social Media

Kourtney Turner

Kourtney joined CrossFit Newnan in 2018 after graduating from Georgia Tech (go Jackets!) where she met her now husband, Andrew Turner. She was a cheerleader in high school and college and needed something to fill the void after graduating and absolutely fell in love with CrossFit (and Andrew). She loves that CrossFit builds strength, skill, speed, and endurance, all while getting to workout with your friends. She believes you can improve on an existing skill, learn a new one, or scale back depending on your season of life, but no matter what you’re doing, you can always push yourself to be the best version of you.

After having their first child, Kourtney quit her corporate job to be a stay-at-home mom and CrossFit coach—both are her dream! She loves helping people hit a PR, get a new skill, and gain the confidence that only working out can give you, both externally and internally.

Eric Legault

Coach

Eric Legault

Dr. Eric has been married to his wife Christina since 2007. They have three children, two girls, ages ten and eight, and a boy, age three.

He has been a chiropractor since 2006. He started Optimal Performance Clinic in 2007 and has an office in the CrossFit Newnan gym. He moved from Canada to Georgia in 1998 and he loves to play ice hockey.

He started doing CrossFit in 2012 and also started coaching in 2012. His favorites things about CrossFit are the accountability and friendships that it brings. He also enjoys the WOD structure.

His favorite movement is the back squat… or really anything that doesn’t make him sore ;).

If he could pick any food to be calorie free, it would be Reese Peanut Butter Cups.

Amanda Newton

Coach

Amanda Newton

Amanda is married to Mike Newton. She has 3 amazing children: Arielle, Hailey, and Michael. Amanda has her Master’s degree in Nonprofit Leadership. Amanda’s heart is in serving others. She loves to volunteer, give back to her community, and is an Executive Director for the nonprofit ReStart Coweta.

CrossFit Newnan has become a second home and family to Amanda. CrossFit has changed her life, not only in the gym, but outside the gym. The thing Amanda loves the most about CrossFit is the community’s encouragement and support. She loves that it’s a place where it is you against yourself and regardless of your age or abilities, everyone is cheering you on, right where you are. Encouraging one another to improve and succeed and celebrating each other every step of the way. Amanda’s goal as a trainer is to give back the accountability and knowledge the other trainers have given her, as well as to continue to learn and improve every step of the way.

Michael Hausmann

Coach

Michael Hausmann

Hi everyone! I’m very excited to be joining the CrossFit Newnan coaching team! I’ve recently retired after 20 years at Google where I built skills as a manager and mentor which I believe transfer well to coaching in CrossFit.

I live in the Newnan area with my wife and two kids and I’m Georgia born and raised (Go Braves!). My favorite lift is the Snatch because it is a never-ending journey to improve on the lift’s technique.

I’m a bit of a reptile nerd, so if you have questions about them or need help identifying a snake in your yard, I’d love to help!

Becca Olmstead

Coach

Becca Olmstead

Her competitive experience includes competing in the CrossFit Open, racing HYROX New York, completing road races from 5Ks to half marathons, competing as part of a bike relay team for the Ironman 70.3 Gulf Coast, and actively training for her upcoming Ironman 70.3 and half marathon. She understands the dedication and consistency required to achieve challenging fitness goals and is committed to helping others improve performance, build resilience, and unlock their full potential—whether they are starting their fitness journey, preparing for their first race or chasing a new personal best.

Jared Olmstead

Coach

Jared Olmstead

Jared has been married to his wife, Rebecca, since 2011. Together, they have twin boys who keep life busy and fun!

Outside of family and work, Jared enjoys staying active and spending time with the people around him. He has a passion for fitness through triathlons, HYROX, and CrossFit and enjoys challenging himself while helping others reach their goals.

Jared’s favorite thing about fitness is seeing individuals push themselves to accomplish something they once thought was impossible and become better than they were yesterday.

He loves being able to coach, encourage, and help others reach goals they didn’t think were possible.
